Chapter III Event — Year 311
The Fomorian Invasion of Astraloftum was a catastrophic military assault by the forces of Nirvana upon the holy city of Astraloftum, orchestrated through the Great Natu Tree during the Lunar Eclipse and the Symphony of Ascension. It represented the largest open conflict between the Ecclesia Solari and the Fomorian forces in the modern era.
Prelude
The invasion was enabled by Dark Silas, who betrayed the Solar Scions during their expedition into the Great Natu Tree. By activating the Well of Souls into a shimmering mirror that reflected the Lunar Eclipse, Dark Silas opened a Fomorian invasion corridor. The Servants of Nirvana emerged with the goal of stealing the Souls within the Well to crown the Unborn Fomorian King.
Key Battles
- Battle at the Well of Souls – The Soul Shepherds fought and defeated Count von Preshons, Fallen Lord of Yahar’gul and Silas’s vampiric father. Diallos delivered the killing blow after being revived by Finley.
- Battle for the Grove – The Archdruids and Solar Scions fought to hold the Whispering Grove against the demon horde led by Magus Xor’Ocu.
- Battle of the Streets – A coalition of Inquisition soldiers and Solar Scions, led by Liara Cetra, Animus Tenebris, and Lord Commander Zariel, fought demons in the streets of Astraloftum.
Key Casualties & Consequences
- Carter Moonwing – Killed by a Tormenauk demon (soul devoured); later revived by Finley using Revivify.
- Diallos – Killed by Magus Xor’Ocu’s Necrosis beam; revived by Finley.
- Archdruid Elowen – Sacrificed herself in the defense of the Grove. Her soul now resides within Finley’s Staff of the Seasons.
- Archdruid Agni – Soul consumed by a demon; found unconscious in the river and stabilized by Holy Mother Anastasia.
- Magus Xor’Ocu – Defeated by Bartholomew and Diallos. His Twilight Shard was claimed by the Scions.
Aftermath
- The Great Natu Tree was saved from destruction.
- The Soul Shepherds claimed victory alongside the Inquisition Army.
- High Priestess Cetra publicly rallied the survivors and revealBartholomewaldwin XXIX|Bartholomew]] helped defend Astraloftum, a pivotal act in his eventual official induction as a Solar Scion.
- Animus Tenebris formed a new party, “The Palms of a New Dawn,” and departed for Damocles College.
- The Solar Scions officially renamed themselves the Soul Shepherds.
