Magus Xor’Ocu

Nirvana’s Fomorian General — The Beholder

Magus Xor’Ocu was a Beholder and one of the Fomorian Generals who led the demonic assault on Astraloftum during the Fomorian Invasion of Astraloftum. Arrogant, theatrical, and dangerously powerful, Xor’Ocu commanded both the Fomorian demon army and the Cult of Nirvana during the invasion.

Powers

  • Necrosis Beam — A devastating beam capable of killing outright. Used to kill Diallos (later revived) and nearly obliterate Finley.
  • Antimagic Eye — His central eye could suppress magic in its gaze. During the battle, it flared into a pitch-black orb that erupted into a dazzling rainbow, dispelling all magic in the area — breaking Finley’s Liondrake form and sending him, Diallos, and Virtus plummeting from the sky.
  • Teleportation — Xor’Ocu could teleport to evade attacks, sacrificing one of his eyes each time to do so.

Final Words

Xor’Ocu taunted Finley before unleashing his Necrosis beam: “I will show you how your master ended up, the Archdruid, as ash so shall you return to.” The trees of the Grove answered in defiance: “He shall not fall, for he is the Prince of Arcadia.”

Death

Defeated by a combined effort of the Soul Shepherds during the Battle of the Grove. Bartholomew plunged his blade into one of Xor’Ocu’s eyes before delivering the killing blow. Diallos threw a javelin that pierced Xor’Ocu’s main eye in his final moments after being revived.

His Twilight Shard was claimed by the Soul Shepherds and later used by Bartholomew to teleport the party out of the Atrium Profanus in the Mirror Realm.

His Fomorian Ichor (harvested from his remains) was likewise used by Bartholomew to escape the Mirror Realm during Vyvanix’s attack.

The Possible Human Connection

The moment of recognition Xor’Ocu showed upon seeing Virtus is an unresolved mystery. It is unclear whether this means Xor’Ocu was once someone who knew the Tenebris family, or whether his Beholder form simply retains fragmented human memories from whoever — or whatever — he once was.

He cannot die so long as Alucan’s Soul is tied to the Mirror Realm.
