The Quadrennial Meal Festival
The Quadrennial Meal Festival is a large cultural competition held every four years in Janus City on the Titan Saturn. Chefs from across the Titan gather to compete in multi-round culinary challenges, with the ultimate goal of presenting a final dish as a divine Offering to Janus herself.
Format
The festival takes place over multiple days and consists of three rounds:
- Round 1 – Signature Dish: Chefs present their best original work for the judges.
- Round 2 – Elemental Ingredients: Chefs must craft a dish from unique elemental ingredients sourced during the competition.
- Round 3 – Personal Ingredient: Contestants must cook using an ingredient found on their person.
The three best dishes from the final round are carried by the judges into the sky, offered to Janus in a divine ceremony of cosmic scale — a vacuum of air descends and levitates the food upward into the ancient Titan’s void.

- Jer’Emee – Jas-Sharaza representative.
- Reina Akaska – Known as “the Iron Feather.”
- Pickory – The youngest Jas-Sharaza council member; Whimsical’s first paying customer at Freedom’s Respite.
Notable Competitors (312 Festival)
- Whimsical & Diallos – Won all three rounds. Final dish: a Saturnus Rex heart marinated for days and cooked inside a clay vessel shaped like Janus, blessed with the divine favor of Tekk.
- Carter & Silas – Delivered a provocative “Soulfood” dish. Their collaboration fell apart in Round 2 due to a violent argument, with Silas storming out and Carter finishing alone.
- Helga – Accidentally served her Raptor sous chef grilled. Attempted to compete without a partner in Round 3 and failed.
- Masha – The Hag of Janus Jungle, competing with a clone of herself. Placed a curse on Carter. Her dishes were sabotaged or destroyed by the other competitors.
Champion
Whimsical K. Beque — 312 Quadrennial Meal Festival Champion. Awarded a gold medal and 10 solid Gold Blocks.
Significance
Beyond the culinary competition, the festival served as cover for several important events: Virtus overheard Maskin shamans conspiring to free Jaz’Farrah, Silas and Talleah had a somber meeting in a quiet alley, and Carter used the Magi Tablet to restore Silas’s missing arm in the festival’s aftermath.
