Known as the Scribe of the Shell, she is a scholar and a defiant leader of a rebellion force on the Titan Jupiter. She also reveals she works for an organization called “The Scribes”.
Joy is the presumed-dead lover of Whimsical. She believed Whimsical had perished long ago on Jupiter, and when they finally reunited after her rescue, Joy suffered the heartbreaking reality of not recognizing Whimsical, but they have since reconciled and now they know of each again. Joy loves Omniscient and Charming and wishes she could meet them again.
She was recently rescued by the Soul Shepherds from the ship of the Stone Giant Corsair, Gunhild Stormson, where she was being held captive and interrogated. She is missing her left arm and her body is heavily scarred and battered after facing off against Cloudbeard. Joy has now begged the Scions to venture into the Carapax to defeat Cloudbeard once and for all.
Joy recently discovered a shocking truth regarding her closest confidante, Editor Rupert. She learned that Rupert and the previous King Dumaclath were once lovers, and that the Traitor King Dumac is actually Rupert’s son. Despite the shock, she trusts Rupert’s plight to bring down his tyrant son.
