SABER is a clandestine unit of Solar Scions that operate outside the direct command of the Ecclesia Solari. Founded in the aftermath of the Invasion of Astraloftum, they exist in the shadows of the Holy Trinity’s bureaucracy to handle threats that the Church cannot officially recognize – particularly threats that stem from within. “The blade before the hymn” they specialize in infiltration, soul-intelligence gathering, and Apostate termination. They report only to the High Priestess of the Ecclesia Solari, High Priestess Cetra, and act as a necessary counterbalance to the idealistic image the Solar Scions project. Their goal is not finding Paradise; it is making sure the Church keeps its’ hold on the world.

Founding. After Amiel Tenebris’ disappearance, the Ecclesia Solari sent out some Solar Scions to search for him, they did not find him but they did stumble upon: “The Scriptures of False Rites”, desecrated holy scripture believed to be from Paradise written by a group of Apostates calling themselves “Cult of Nirvana”. Within them were encoded accounts of corrupted Scions; Apostates who became demonic infiltrators within the Ecclesia, falsifying miracles used to rally political power. Saint Ascon, laid the groundwork for this secret society of Scions to ensure the survival of the Trinity’s truth – even if that meant waging a silent war from within.
Structure & Protocols.
- Operatives are referred to as Sci-Ops.
- Members retain all official Scion privileges but operate as if excommunicated.
- Possess a magical “Twilight Brand” which allows them to pass through Mirror Realms without losing their Souls (developed from research on Silas Clemens when he was younger)
- Each operative undergoes a rite called the Light Severance.
- They are allowed to lie, kill, or abandon allies - so long as the Dawn survives.
