Evil Carter / Carter Moonwing (Alternate Timestream)
Apostate Solar Scion — Alternate Timestream Carter
Evil Carter (as referred to in the Obsidian index) is a version of Carter Moonwing from a different timestream who was swapped into the current reality when the Time Loop on Saturn was broken at the Elephant Spire. The original Carter is trapped in an alternate timestream.
The Swap
When the 14th Time Loop was broken, a temporal swap occurred. The Carter who now walks among the Soul Shepherds — or rather, who has now fled with Jaz’Farrah — is not the Carter who boarded the Project A.R.K. from Astraloftum. This was revealed privately to Silas before the trial in Janus City.
This alternate Carter wishes to return to his own timestream and believes he needs both Jaz’Farrah’s temporal expertise and Silas’s help to do so.
Actions That Distinguish Him
- Drove a javelin through Silas’s heart during the Saturnus Rex fight, under the command of Magi — an act the original Carter’s moral compass would have resisted more.
- Stated flatly that if Magi asked him to kill Talleah again, he would comply.
- Slashed Jaz’Farrah’s cheek to collect her “time-shifted” blood for research.
- Helped orchestrate Jaz’Farrah’s escape from the Jas-Sharaza trial, betraying the Soul Shepherds.
Current Status
At large. Escaped Janus City with Jaz’Farrah following the chaos of the trial. Declared an Apostate by the Ecclesia Solari. Thirteen, as a SABER operative, has been tasked with hunting him down.
The Original Carter
The original Carter Moonwing — brilliant, morally earnest, deeply loyal to the Soul Shepherds — is believed to be trapped in the alternate timestream from which this Carter originated. His fate and potential rescue are unresolved threads.
