Count von Preshons was born into nobility in the region of Yahar’gul. As the last lord of his house, Preshons was known for his striking intellect, strategic prowess, and unwavering sense of duty to his people. However, his life took a dramatic turn in his early twenties when he fell victim to a vampiric curse. This curse, inflicted upon him by an ancient Fomorian artifact, transformed him into a vampire, granting him immortality and immense power but at a grave cost.
For three centuries, Count Preshons ruled over Yahar’gul with an iron fist wrapped in a velvet glove. He was both feared and revered by his subjects. Unlike other oppressive overlords of the Atlas Kingdoms, Preshons took his pact with the land and its people seriously. He believed that his strength and longevity were intrinsically linked to the prosperity of Yahar’gul and its crimson waters. This belief led him to aggressively defend his domain against the constant incursions of the Martian Imperium, the rest of the Atlas Kingdoms, and the Ecclesia Solari, viewing them all as his natural sworn enemies.
*Despite his vampiric nature, Preshons was seen as a protector, a necessary evil who kept worse evils at bay. Each new moon of Noctu, he would claim the Red Tax.
However, the Ecclesia Solari, with help from allied kingdoms, driven by a moral crusade, eventually set its sights on Yahar’gul. The Solar Scions of their time led by Solar Scion Liara Cetra, Solari Cleric Anastasia, and Green Knights, overran Preshons’ defenses, staked the vampire lord, burned his body to ash, and the church rescued his oppressed children.*
*With the Rod of Count Preshons in hand, the Green Knights claimed Yahar’gul and soon became corrupted, plunging its people into despair and oppression.
Yet, the songs of the witches of the Gardens of Arcadia persisted, foretelling Preshons’ return in Yahar’Gul’s darkest hour.*
