RaceHigh Elf (Tamasoran)
Role[[Queen Amanté of Ouranoú
Alias used”Rumpus” (at the Green Queen Inn)
ClassBladesinger (a dark mirror of Aurelia)
Calling cardA Silent Princess flower

Jean is the elf hunting Aurelia for the crown of Ouranoú. He is handsome, quiet, and very good at his work, and he carries an old scar on his left shoulder. To the party he looks like an assassin with a job. The truth is worse, and softer: Jean is the person Aurelia left behind.

Model the relationship on She-Ra and Catra: two who grew up as each other’s whole world, split when one of them “left,” love gone bitter and obsessive, and a long road back that neither will admit they want.

The Bond

Aurelia grew up a princess in Tārā. Jean grew up at her side, the overlooked one, lowborn or wardless, always half a step behind her destiny and her title. They were inseparable, each other’s only real person. Whatever Aurelia’s flirtation is now (armor she uses on everyone), with Jean it was once the genuine thing, and she buried it.

The Leaving

When Queen Amanté framed Aurelia for the king’s murder, Aurelia fled into exile to survive. She ran, suddenly, to save her own life, and she did not, could not, take Jean. From her side it was survival. From his side it was the one wound that never closed: she left him.

The Hunt Now

Duty is the mask; he cannot let her go. The Silent Princess flower he left at the inn was not a calling card, it was a message only she would read. He resents the Boneshield Misfits.

Aurelia made a new family and looks happy without him. Now the Crooked Grasp has trapped him in the valley too, so he cannot finish the job and vanish. He is stuck sharing her world, which is exactly what breaks people like him open.

Personality

  • Fights as a love language. He picks at her, tests her, keeps not landing the killing blow.
  • Wants, more than the kill, for her to say she is sorry, that he mattered, that she thinks about him.
  • Cold and recise in front of others; only Aurelia can crack the composure.
