The lowest Air Zones Zephyrs can sail through. A seemingly endless expanse of cloud, home to floating islands, colossal ancient Titans, and submerged ruins that slowly shift with the tides of cloud currents. Wind is normal here. While the Skysea is made of clouds, its physics are more akin to those of water. The clouds are dense enough to where people and even large objects (such as Titans & Airships) are able to float on and swim in it as if it were the ocean. However, swimming in the Skysea isn’t exactly like swimming in water, but instead feels as if “the clouds are wrapping around you.”
The deeper you descend into the Skysea, the denser the clouds become, gradually turning the already dense gaseous clouds into liquid water and making it appear and feel as if you are underwater. The Skysea’s surface isn’t always flat and sometimes mountains of clouds are formed, as is the case of the Thorianna Skyfjords in East Skysea.
- If your Zephyr falls below this level, it will be considered as ‘sinking’. In these instances, Airships are considered to be destroyed and unfixable.
Inhabitants. Sky Pirates, sky-monsters, and Fomorians thrive in the Skysea Zone.
- Pirates hide their ships in the thicker cloudbanks, using the mist and shifting cloud mountains to stay concealed.
- Pirates use the Skysea Zone as their base of operations. The dense clouds hide their hideouts, and they often set traps for the passing Zephyr that has descended too far. Some pirate lords might even control entire floating islands.
- Skysea monsters, such as massive cloud krakens or leviathans made of swirling vapor and lightning, roam the densest parts of this zone, especially near cloud-mountain ranges. These monsters often attack sinking ships or prey on unwary vessels drifting too close to the Skysea’s depths.
