Montague Tepes is a respected veterinarian in Boneshield until one day, something bound to him, something very sinister indeed… No one believed what he saw, so he decided to to try to uncover what it is that eventually became part of him..
So Monty had a wife. He cares about her but the marriage has been sort of rocky from the beginning. He’s a kind man but there’s never exactly been a reciprocated spark between the two of them. Monty may be gay or perhaps even ace but he doesn’t know that. But his wife after years of partnership has her suspicions and frustrations. When he gets attacked by the mist he tells her and either by some mind altering property of the mist itself or due to the years of bottled up frustration in their marriage she dismisses him and once he starts ruining his reputation by talking about it to people she finally separates from him. She loved him romantically and is heartbroken but finally starting to look for a partner that will love her in the way that she needs. Monty is heartbroken for a different reason. He’s hurting and dealing with this monster but he isn’t mad at her even if she resents him. He loves her in his own way and is determined to protect her and the town from this thing they don’t believe in
The other is a man named Alistair Frey. A wealthier guy than Monty. He brings in his farm dog. A great Pyrenees named Togo that guards the bit of livestock he has on his homestead. He sometimes pays Monty to visit the property personally to do regular check ups on his livestock animals and when he does Monty closes the main vet clinic with notice and it’s kind of of a full day endeavor.
